Class of 2008
When I attended At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy, I was already 30 years old with 2 kids and was always "the old one" in the kitchen. When I enrolled into the culinary programme, I didn’t think I would amount to anything big or remotely important. As we say in Tagalog, “Suntok sa buwan”. However, here I am, barely 9 years later, reaching heights I never thought possible, in such a short amount of time. I am now the Restaurant Operations Chef in one of the premiere 5-star hotels in the Philippines, with my restaurant garnering several accolades such as Best Restaurant in Asia Pacific, and finding myself handling events such as the Iron Chef Gala Dinner.
The Advanced Culinary Programme in At-Sunrice has equipped me with well- rounded skills set in both Western and Asian culinary styles which has been a tremendous advantage to my work endeavours. It has also instilled in me the professional discipline and good work ethics which has helped me achieve my goals and beyond. I will always remember my beginnings in At-Sunrice.
