Advance with a Specialist Diploma in Culinary Wellness or Food Entrepreneurship, allowing you to specialise in emerging and in demand fields. Complete the pathway with the BA (Hons) in Business Studies with Entrepreneurship (Top up) from the University of West London, delivered in Singapore, a programme focused on business strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurial leadership.

Career Diploma (12 months) + Specialist Diploma (6 months) + Bachelor’s Degree (12 months) = 30 months  / 2.5 years

The full-time 12-month onsite Career Diploma Programmes are offered in Culinary Arts and Pastry & Baking, with 6 months of study and 6 months of paid internship. Classes run Monday to Friday* at the academy. This equips learners with advanced culinary management skills, critical thinking, and managerial competencies for restaurants and food production. It bridges industry skills gaps, aligns training with future job roles, and provides a foundation for higher qualifications in food services. 

After completing the Career Diploma, graduates can pursue a 6-month online Specialist Diploma in Food Entrepreneurship or Culinary Wellness, with classes once a week on Wednesdays from 09:00 AM to 04:30 PM*. 

Graduates may then progress to the BA (Hons) Business Studies with Entrepreneurship Level 6 (Top-up) degree, a 12-month programme designed to develop knowledge, skills, and aptitude in entrepreneurship. It prepares students to start and manage businesses, navigate a fast-changing global business environment, and create employment opportunities, while also benefiting those seeking roles in SMEs.

Career Diploma 
  • Passion to work in the F&B industry
  • Possess a minimum of 1 week working experience in any F&B related establishment

Singaporean/Singapore PR Applicants:

  • Obtained at least a pass in a diploma or equivalent qualifications in the relevant field of study; AND
  • IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL (internet-based total) 46 - 59 / WPL Level 5

International students need to meet the English language requirement at either:

  • IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). OR

    • Pearson PTE Academic at score 51 or above OR
    • An equivalent secure English language test score.

Academic:

  • Completed/exempted from National Service (for Singaporean males only).

For At-Sunrice Students, you must have successfully completed the following: 

  • Career Diploma in Culinary Arts or
    • Career Diploma in Pastry and Bakery or
    • Career Diploma in Food and Beverage Management or
    • At-Sunrice Diploma in Culinary Arts (18-month) or
    • At-Sunrice Diploma in Pastry and Bakery (18-month)
    AND
    • Specialist Diploma in Food Entrepreneurship or
    • Specialist Diploma in Culinary Wellness.

For other PEI graduates:

  • An applicant with a diploma qualification in business-related disciplines such as business, entrepreneurship, marketing, hospitality or similar from a Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) or Private Education Institution (PEI).
Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): RPL is not available on Level 6 top up courses.

This degree focuses strongly on entrepreneurship, which is ideal if you want to start your own business. It is also useful for anyone who plans to work in a small-to-medium enterprise (SME). A Business Studies degree can open the door to careers in a number of interesting areas, both in the Singapore, UK and abroad, including personnel management, marketing, business research, finance, sales, sales promotion, and retail management.

 

Alternatively, you could develop a related specialism or explore a new area on one of the UWL’s postgraduate courses.

  • Enrolment is subject to availability and incomplete applications will not be processed.
  • The programme is conducted in English and proficiency in the language is a requirement.
  • Programme contents and all prices are subject to change.
  • Trainee who chooses to drop out prior to successful completion will be requested to pay the programme fees in full and will not be entitled to any SOAs or certificates.
  • The following items are compulsory and must be purchased before the commencement of the programme:
    • Medical Insurance,
    • Fee Protection Scheme.
  • Food items from all practical sessions shall be consumed in the Academy, either during lunch or dinner time.
  • For food safety purposes, food items are not allowed to be taken home for consumption.
  • Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to obtain their relevant certificates:
    • A minimum attendance of 90% and above
    • Pass all assessments required by the programme;
    • Abide with the student code of conduct.

A laptop is mandatory for all online assessments and submissions. To ensure full compatibility with our learning platforms, the laptop must meet the following minimum specifications:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or macOS 11 and above

  • Processor: Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or higher

  • RAM: 8GB or more

  • Storage: 256GB SSD or higher

  • Browser: Latest version of Google Chrome

  • Display: Minimum resolution of 1366×768

3.  The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment can be made by credit/debit card via the online application form.

5. An online personality test will be sent to the applicant (if applicable).

6. Application Outcome
Applicants will receive a confirmation via email.
Successful applicants will receive an acceptance email, which includes the Letter of Acceptance (LOA), Advisory Note, and Student Contract.

7. Payment of Programme Fees
Payment can only be made after signing the LOA, Advisory Note, and Student Contract. For available methods of payment, please refer to the FAQs.

8. Student Pass Fees (for International Students):

  • A SGD 60 issuance fee is charged for each Student Pass issued. In addition, a SGD 30 multiple-entry visa fee is required for most nationalities.
  • Fees are payable only after receiving a successful Student Pass application outcome, followed by the submission of the medical report.
  • Students will be notified by email on the Student Pass application procedures.
