The Online Programme in Culinary Arts offers a flexible blend of synchronous and asynchronous self-directed study, designed for both beginners and industry professionals seeking career advancement. Discover DigiChef's four levels of online learning—from Certificate to Higher Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Diploma.

It allows students to study the fundamentals and slowly progress to advanced skills and knowledge in Culinary Arts at their own pace individually. The online programme comprises an integrated and broad-based training approach that includes soft-skills components necessary to deepen and broaden specific job occupations. Hence it enables our students to be future-ready and adapt to the fast-changing/dynamic Food & Beverage work environment.

The content of this online programme follows the Pastry & Bakery progression track and is benchmarked against the Food Services Skills Framework of SkillsFuture Singapore.

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)
UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training.
NTUC qualifying members enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support (balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidy, including SFC):
-    NTUC members up to $250 per year
-    NTUC Starter members up to $200 per year 
-    NTUC members aged 40 years and above up to $500 per year (for courses commencing from 1 July 2020 to 31 Dec 2025)

Ideal candidates for this programme should have a passion for culinary arts, possess basic computer skills, good moral character, be artistic and disciplined. All prospective students need to complete an interview and online profiling test upon successful submission of application forms. All local and international applicants should meet the following minimum entry requirements (MERs) for this programme.

Educational Qualifications

  • US High school educational level or equivalent qualifications
  • Advanced level of Online English Bridging Course/IELTS 5.0/TOEFL (internet-based total) 35-45/WPL 5 or be a native speaker.

Eligibility Criteria Required For Each Programme Level
Certificate (Level 1) Beginner with No Experience
Higher Certificate (Level 2) Must have 1 year of experience in a related field
Advanced Certificate (Level 3) Must have 1 year experience with a Certificate in a related field
Diploma (Level 4) Must have 3 years of experience or an Advanced Certificate in a related field

 

  • Enrolment is subject to availability and incomplete applications will not be processed.
  • The program is conducted in English and proficiency in the language is a requirement.
  • Program contents and all prices are subject to change.
  • Trainee who chooses to drop out prior to successful completion will be requested to pay the program fees in full and will not be entitled to any certificates.
  • The following items are compulsory and must be purchased before the commencement of the program:
    • Medical Insurance,
    • Fee Protection Scheme.

    1. Minimum attendance of 75%
    2. Pass all assessments required by the program;
